What are the different Manager positions?
LiveWire is a vast community with a lot of opportunities for promotions, special recognitions, and ways to help advance the website as a whole. Manager positions are one way to do that if users are interested and qualified. Currently, we have 8 manager positions, with 3 being restricted to moderator-only, 1 being non-restricted to either members or moderators, and 4 being open for only non-moderators. They are as follows:
What are the roles for each position?
Head Manager - Appointed by way of majority vote by moderators and restricted to moderators only. The role of the Head Manager is to appoint dedicated and qualified members to manager positions when a position becomes open (via an application process) by posting an announcement in the Announcement Forum, and to ensure the managers stay vigilant in their positions. For completing these duties the Head Manager receives a monthly salary of LiveWire reward points. This position can be held for an indefinite amount of time.
FAQ Manager - Appointed by way of majority vote by moderators and restricted to moderators only. The role of the FAQ Manager is to
ensure the FAQs are kept up to date, organized, and accurate, while adding new ones when necessary. For completing these duties the FAQ Manager receives a monthly salary of LiveWire reward points. This position can be held for an indefinite amount of time.
Holiday Manager - Appointed by the Head Manager and non-restricted to either moderators or members. The role of the Holiday Manager is to stimulate keen interest in holidays, create holiday logos and artwork, keep holidays up to date, and find educational links to inform LiveWire members about each holiday. For completing these duties the Holiday Manager receives reward points for each holiday he or she adds and additional points if he or she creates a holiday logo for the holiday. This position can be held for an indefinite amount of time.
Contest Manager - Appointed by the Head Manager and restricted to members only. The role of the Contest Manager is to stimulate keen interest in member artwork, poetry, writing, and photography by organizing new and different contests each month. Receives monthly reward points to distribute to winners of contests. Expecting to work with members whom are interested in creating a contest in negotiating the number of points that will be awarded. For completing these duties the Contest Manager receives a monthly salary of LiveWire reward points. This position can be held for an indefinite amount of time.
Dictionary Manager - Appointed by the Head Manager and restricted to members only. The role of the Dictionary Manager is to ensure the dictionary is free of spam, to fix formatting and clarify existing words, and to add new words. For completing these duties the Dictionary Manager receives a monthly salary of LiveWire reward points. This position can be held for an indefinite amount of time.
Quiz Manager - Appointed by the Head Manager and restricted to members only. The role of the Quiz Manager is to ensure submitted quizzes actually make sense, to fix formatting and clarify existing quizzes, to add new exciting quizzes, and remove especially bad quizzes that cannot be rescued by editing. For completing these duties the Quiz Manager receives a monthly salary of LiveWire reward points. This position can be held for an indefinite amount of time.
Advertising Manager - Appointed by the Head Manager and restricted to members only. The role of the Advertising Manager is to think up new and exciting ways to advertise LiveWire that are friendly with LiveWire's limited budget, contact peer support websites encouraging them to link to LiveWire, and to find ways for LiveWire's name to become widely known either through word of mouth or other interesting avenues. For completing these duties the Advertising Manager receives a monthly salary of LiveWire reward points. This position can be held for an indefinite amount of time.
MySQL/Perl Manager - Appointed by the Head Manager and non-restricted to either moderators or members. The role of the MySQL/Perl Managers is to use member feedback to improve the functionality of LiveWire, optimize code efficiency, and work towards correcting bugs. These formal positions requires for members who are highly skilled in both PERL and MySQL. For completing these duties the MySQL/PERL Managers receive a monthly salary of LiveWire reward points. This position can be held for an indefinite amount of time.
