What are LiveWire cookies & how do I enable them?
Cookies are very small files which your web browser needs to allow LiveWire and other websites to save to your computer temporarily. LiveWire uses cookies to store your membername, password, and which topics you've visited so that it can display post markers correctly for you. Without cookies enabled, LiveWire will forget that you are signed in every time you change pages.
While most browsers have cookies enabled by default, we have included how to turn them on just in case.
Mozilla Firefox:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies (must re-start browser for changes to take effect).
Internet Explorer:
- Microsoft IE 6.0: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Set to "Medium" (any higher will fail).
- Microsoft IE 5.0: Tools > Internet Options > Security.
- Microsoft IE 4.0: View > Internet Options > Advanced > Security.
Safari:
- Select "Preferences" from the "Safari" menu.
- Click the "Security" tab.
- Under "Accept Cookies", choose "Always" or "Only from sites you navigate to".
- Close the preferences window.
Netscape Navigator:
- From the "Edit" menu at the top of your browser window, select "Preferences".
- Click the "Advanced" option.
- On the bottom right side of that box there will be a cookies area. Select the "Accept all cookies" option.
- Click the "Okay" button.
Why am I still having problems?
If you're still having issues, try some of the following solutions:
- Clear Your Cookies: Clearing your cookies is usually an option in your browser's "Preferences" or "Internet Options" menu.
- Set Your Computer Date: If your computer has its date set too far in the future, you might have issues signing in.
- Restart Your Browser: Try closing all instances of your browser, waiting a few seconds, and then starting it back up again.
- Install Firefox: We recommend that you install and use Firefox if you are having difficulties signing in. Download Firefox by clicking here.
