Why was my reply considered non-contributive?

The most common reason selected for post removals is that the "post did not contribute to the topic." The list below is a brief sampling of just some of the reasons as to why your post might've been removed with that reason selection. It's important to note that none of these reasons are set in stone, and nor are they always moderated - it's heavily viewed on a case by case basis. You're encouraged to message the acting moderator to find out the specific reason for removal.

  • Did not attempt to answer the specific question.
  • Posted "Ask a moderator" in the Member-2-Moderator forum.
  • Told author to use a search engine without attempting to answer the question.
  • Posted "I don't know," "Never read it," "I'm a virgin," or things along those lines.
  • Post was indicative that you did not read the original post (I.E. "That's too long to read.")
  • Posted "Why is this explicit?" or something similar without attempting to answer the question.
If you still think that your post was removed in error, you're encouraged to file a moderator error report.
