I have added more LiveWire branding to the Print Topic page as well as fixing an address that was incorrect due to a bug in ikonboard. I also have added links to return back to various sections of LiveWire.

reidab and I talked about how a more accurate count of users could be gathered about a week ago, reidab just today informed me he'd made the needed alterations. I worked on adding the output from the new script to forum and main pages.

Using a combination of ikonboard 3.0's images I've made the Email Topic to a Friend and Printable Topic buttons more visually appealing.

the profile page was displaying dark grey boxes for users who didn't enter information about their location or interests. This has been fixed.

The title of the page wasn't displaying and the first box was the wrong color of grey.

[ Wording and layout ]

Though mostly wording, I've changed the layout as well of the two pages so that they match more closely. I think the improved version is easier to read and the red *'s on the register page will encourage new users to join as they show only 3 fields are required to actually register.

Some of you may have noticed that the messenger icons changed recently to be more efficient, but until today they lacked proper labeling.

The physical and file size of the white trademark livewire thumbprint image has been reduced by about 85% bringing about a 1.1k load time decrease.

Since April 2nd, 2001 LiveWire Statistics:

The average number of documents viewed per visitor is 5.618.

There have been a total of 5,343 on local documents from 951 unique IP addresses with the majority of which falling on Tuesdays.

Several new topics have been added to the FAQ page and using anchor tags it is easier to find the item you're interested in.

LiveWire is 99% 640x480 compatible at this point in time. Only the date at the top of forum pages remains a problem.

Resources link and Cool Links link have been added to all forum pages. The Cool Links page is entirely new to LiveWire and will of course grow as time goes on.

The listing of the 5 newest posts has been upgraded to show all posts active in the day. Also, it now shows more informaiton about each post. The listing can be accessed directly at [url]http://www.livewireoregon.org/active[/url].

The LiveWire memberlist script has been upgraded to version 2.6. This adds new sorting and administration features.

The ability to create online polls has been added to LiveWire. To create a new poll, just click on the 'New Poll' button. When voting on a poll, we encourage you to use the post reply function to vioce your opinion.

[ 2.5k decrease by changing a front image ]

By changing the image of the small cartoon character on the home page to a new and different image which now links directly to the teen forums I've reduced load time of the home page by 2.5k.

Though we have been online for about 8 months now, we've only had 603 unique visitors. That is an average of 2.5 visitors a day. At the time of this post we have 66 registered members and are just now beginning to see increased traffic to the site.

In an attempt to further propagate the active user listing, some data on the forums was corrupted on 9/18/2001. After tedious restoration work, It is beleived that all posting have been resurected. Also, some topic descriptions were lost and had to be replaced during the data rebuilding process. Please look at your topics to make sure that all data is correct and make the necessary changes.

Installed a patch to the board which fixed issues regarding the sorting of messages. Now, newest messages will appear first.

Yes, that's right! Overall load time of the main pages of LiveWire have been reduced by 1.1k in images, 7k was taken off of the random images, and there was a 3k reduction in HTML file size.

[ Affected date on forum pages ]

Fairly recently LiveWire was updated to include the current date on the tops of all forum pages, until today it was being displayed in the wrong font.

Image load time on LiveWire's front page has been reduced by 0.8k, a 5.2k image was removed from the forums when users who were not logged in visited. I hope to reduce the sizes of the randomly selected images on the main page of LiveWire as they are rather large. Generally ranging from 5k to 8k a piece.

[ Bug fixes and known bugs ]

At LiveWire we try our best to allow users from all plateforms, browers, and monitor resolutions to have an enjoyable visit. However, we are not able to test all configurations and certain problems continue to elude us. I've just completed extensive work on LiveWire's front pages to allow compatibility with MacOS Internet Explorer and Windows Internet Explorer almost flawlessly. When users increase text sizes beyond the length of width of a line in MacOS Internet Explorer image displacement still occurs. Small pixel wide gaps persist in MacOS Netscape 6.1.
