This topic was somewhat inspiring towards this idea. It seems that some members don't exactly remember how or when they were given their penalty points and that mods aren't able to find exactly how either. So my suggestion would be to have a penalty point log (much similar to say the transfer log) in which it accounted for: - Which mod added the penalty points to an account
- Why they were added to an account
- When they were added to an account
It's not really "needed" to say, but it would help organize some things and allow members to reflect as to why certain things happened when they happened. As well as making it easier for a mod to direct a member to the reasonings behind them having their penalty points. |

add buttons to drop-down menus Oct. 18, 2009 at 9:45am by robbie123 — Dairy Product Addict
most people probably wouldn't use this, but it would help people like me who are blind and use specialist equipment to browse the web (which run pocket IE6) if there were buttons like "go" or something like that added to drop-down menus. take the favourite forums feature for example: i can change the selection in the drop-down menus, but i have no way of saving my changes so i am stuck with some random forums. this also applies to the actions menu in profiles: i am unable to make a selection which means i cannot transfer points for example unless the member in question sends me a link i can use to send them points. this feature could be enabled/disabled in the appearance settings or something like that and would be available to all members, regardless of donation status or sl/mod status. |

Alerts for image approval Oct. 16, 2009 at 9:57pm by Kaskade — Enlightened One
We need alerts that let us know when the moderators have approved of our images. Good idea, no? |

Create new standards for replies - Furthered Oct. 12, 2009 at 9:20pm by The Mixed Tape — halcyon
In a sense, this is feeding from moomoomilk's idea, but not really in it's entirety. Just the overlying idea and thought. In a sense, it would be a filter such as one in the intellectual forum. Instead of having people posting one word responses (or one sentence responses) in support forums for an easy +1, you'd have to actual put some thought into your response. It'd cut down on some spam (hopefully) along with increasing the support level of the site. (again, hopefully.) |

New Instant Messaging Oct. 11, 2009 at 5:57pm by anc8469 — Omnipotent One
You guys know how Facebook, and myspace have on the bottom of the page a pop up IM if you want to talk to your friends? Well I think Livewire should get one. I think it could be handy when it comes to talking to friends on LW instantly. Usually people on here use MSN or something else to talk to people/friends of LW. If we had a IM bar, then we wouldn't have to. |

Wouldn't it be cool to have a little feature where you can search for a country, and find all the people on LW who claim they live there? It's pointless for people from the USA, like a third of LW is American, but it would be cool for other members, such as myself. |

Remove all favorites Oct. 5, 2009 at 1:35pm by Bexi324 — Wealthy Hobo
There should be a button on the page where all of your favorites are. This button should be able to remove all of your favorites from your list. If for some reason this can not be done then the list of favorits should be endless so we dont have to delete all of them one by one. |

Chat Room App Oct. 4, 2009 at 6:41pm by JessDeVaney — Quality Control Engineer
Have a Chat room area just for members of certain groups, and one overall chat room, so it easier and like a option to save a message so private messaging can be used still, but this allows everybody easier access to talk to. |

Google Friend Connect Oct. 4, 2009 at 10:04am by KevinAMcDonald — Dairy Product Addict
I highly recommend you install Google Friend Connect on this website. I put it on my website and damn, I must say, Google Friend Connect is perhaps Google's greatest product ever. It is absolutely free to use and you can put it on as many websites as you want. You can start using it now at the following URL: http://www.google.com/friendconnect |

Would it ever be possible to get a button such as in this picture, that could link us to our eHelp responses inside the eHelp center. Rather than having to go to our profiles every time just to find the link. Just a thought. :) |

SLs keeping own replies. Oct. 2, 2009 at 10:49pm by 4est — Oh, Mr. Darcy!
SLs and TSLs should not be able to vote to keep their own replies, as it's clearly then a biased decision. |

Image Pending Approval Icon Sep. 27, 2009 at 8:24am by noraa — Soothsayer
It's so annoying not knowing if an image has been approved, especially if you want to embed it in a topic or something, and it's annoying to have to press "avatarize" or comment it to see if it's been approved. dreamweaver thought of this in my topic that I made about this, that there would be an icon that said Image Pending Approval next to it in the IB. |

Server Load Balancing Sep. 21, 2009 at 1:59am by derailedjet — ^^Proof I'm A Loser^^
Both the main server and img server should periodically ping each other. If at any point one server does not get a response from the other, it would take over serving the files on the other server until the down server comes online. |

Log in and out bar Sep. 20, 2009 at 7:43pm by Ramellan — Omnipotent One
While the Log in and out bar is wonderful (for those who dont pay attention, its that moving blue bar when you log in and out that says "livewire is logging you in, if youre page doesnt automatically redirect you, click here") its a bit annoying. and a total waste of time. with my page logged in, i can immediately click that "click here" button and not have to wait a moment for me to be logged in or out. now that my browser no longer redirects me, it is a total waste of my time. |

For those who want to change their name, but is unsure about it, could we not have a "Membername Change Preview", where we see our profile with the username we wish to use. If it's not our thing, simply cancel and walha! It would be handy. |

We can use [italics], so why not [bold]? I think it would be good, especially for those who have links in their sigs. |

Member Spotlight Sep. 18, 2009 at 11:45pm by heatherette — Swami
Instead of useless information taken from our profiles, the member spotlight should display a brief status update and our current mood... like heatherette status: watching my boyfriend play video games mood: annoyed |

Most forums have a "mark all read" button. Such a button would greatly enhance my LW viewing experience. |

Yeah so this isn't exactly a thing you can ADD to LiveWire, it's just an idea. How about have a TINY area on LiveWire where people can sort of have a few topics about one thing, like a blog or something. Not exactly, but say a brother was in a hospital, and you wanted to give out information about how it's going, so you keep making a topic about it everyday, something like that. A bit vague, but it's an idea. |

Quizzes gaining users points Sep. 11, 2009 at 7:41pm by The Mixed Tape — halcyon
Most of you don't use the quiz section for the sole factor of either: - You didn't know we had quizzes (Noobs)
- None of the quizzes interest you
- Quiz section looks sloppy (?)
- Quizzes don't give points.
For now I'm going to tackle the last bullet point. My Idea (Quiz Makers): The maker of a quiz gets an amount of points equal to half of the number of questions that his/her quiz contains. To prevent spamming of the quiz section, the user is restricted to only one quiz a day; as well as, them not getting their points until the quiz has been accepted by the quiz manager. Example: You have just created a quiz with 30 questions in it. An hour later the Quiz Manager accepts it, and you get 15 points for the quiz you made. My Idea (Quiz Takers): Since quizzes are somewhat equal to large polls (somewhat, not exactly) I feel that for every question answered you should get 1/3 of a point added to your account. You can only take each quiz once, thus making it impossible for someone to take a fifty question quiz 30 times and receiving 500 points because of it. Example: You just took a fifteen question quiz. After you hit submit, you would receive 5 points for taking the quiz. It's somewhat of a way to help make the quiz section more lively and get people acclimated to making/taking quizzes; as well as, giving feedback on what needs to be changed/added. Not a whole lot of points, but it could potentially enable success down the road. Discuss |

I think having the quizzes link in a more visible place would be extremely helpful to make people know we even have quizzes. |

I think that we should have a section, for new quizzes, even if its just when you hit the quizzes link, so that people see what the new ones are instead of just taking popular ones. |

Perhaps we could add something to the quiz section (preferably if it was ever added to the side bar underneath contests) which stated "# New" for however many new quizzes have been added since the members last log-in. Not only will it increase activity, but also awareness of the section. It's kind-of weird seeing members say "we have quizzes?" :/ It goes visually unnoticed at the top of the screen. |
