But now....I really don't know why we were put here. Well, I know if we have a purpose, it's to help each other while we're on this rock. Or that's got to be a large part of it. No person can live without compassion from his fellow human beings. Deny it if you like. I really believe that.

Today, I actually said out loud that I think we should let the homeless fend for themselves because it's their own faults there where they are.

Here's what prompted this:  I'm very sick and have no medical insurance and currently no job. I have literally about 5 bucks to my name, and if my family didn't like me and I didn't have really generous friends, I WOULD be fucking homeless. So for purposes other than maybe aesthetics and good company when I'm not moping, I am very honestly a useless individual right now.

I can't afford any more medical bills on top of what I already owe. I have close to if not over $1000 due as soon as possible. So I've been looking for a free clinic to go to. Or at least somewhere where I'm not going to end up adding fucking $200 to my debt for an ear infection. I live in, what was it, the 26th largest city in the U.S., surely there is SOMETHING like that here. I searched the phone book. I searched online. I called the Salvation Army.....I ended up with ONE "Non-Profit" organization and two places that are branches of one organization. I called one and they told me, verbatim, I have to be homeless to get help from them.

That can't possibly be true. There are six branches. Why in the possible sam HELL woudl we have SIX BRANCHES of a clinic JUST for free care to homeless people, and WHY would it be called family care clinic?

I don't even expect help. I never ask for it. Even for simple things. I'm rediculously fucking proud and I always have been, even when I have nothing to be proud about. I only expect to be treated humanely. The woman...who works for an organization that is there to help people who are sick and can't afford medical help otherwise....brushed me off. She suggested nothing. She was actually rude.

I really doubt anyone will read all this....I just want to hear a kind word to remind me it's still worth my breath to keep going in a place like this.

Hmm, it's only for the homeless, well, that's not fair, there isn't anywhere for you to go?

Well, there is hope, there are people like you in this world, who give a damn about people, and well, I think you may be able to find someone, maybe perhaps, we could here, raise some funds for you or something?

That makes me want to see if the same situation is here, because well, everyone should be able to have health care, not just the rich or the homeless, everyone in between....

Yes, and how do I pay rent with no job. I don't pay it myself. I kind of figured that was a given.

:-) I appreciate the sentiment, I really do. But no...I'm pretty sure I'll figure something out. I've got a few ideas to go off of....I'll see if those work out. In all truth, it IS my own fault I don't have a job yet. Though it is ironic that I get sick when I start actually looking for one..

Did you even READ the other posts? I already explained that once. I'm living with my boyfriend and some friends. I don't pay for rent, utilities, or internet. And for the most part, no one is paying any extra for me to be here except for my boyfriend, who provided the offer.

Second, what part of your brain makes you think I can pay for internet monthly with a nonreplenishing 5 bucks? How, pray tell, does that make any sense?
