EMA (educational matainace allowance). I get the full �30 pounds aweek woohoo. which dont seem alot but for me it is. Its what pays for me to get to college as i live a good 20 miles from college. Anyway i was getting paid weekly as usual where all of a sudden my payments had stop. so i went to my school advice centre about it and they checked up and it said thaat my EMA had been discontinued because of my attendance which is 85% which is 5 percent lower then it has to be. Well we made enquiries into it and it turns out the teachers had not been faxing my letters to the EMA headofficer to tell them about my absances. so it was cut of. The teachers did not keep a these letters so i can not be back paid or continue reciving my EMA. so i am going to have to quite college ano it sounds abit drastick but we are really streached on money and that was the only way i could afford to go to college

that sucks...dwim sure things will get sorted out, i dont really like the idea of some people getting EMA, some people waste it on alcohol n shit and i really think sometimes it could go to better causes that ACTUALLY need it, i dont receive EMA and this is no vendetta against you cos u obviously need it but generally EMA = shit! cos very few actually spend it on what it is intended 4 but try and get in touch with them and explain your situation

Ive tryed but all they keep saying is that my attendance needs to get back up but i cant help it 2 aweek i have to go to hospital

Just because you didn't recieve payments doesn't mean you won't keep getting your EMA. Beleive me. I haven't gotten my payments because of non attendance, but if you attend from now on you can still get it.

Well you want to get on to EMA themselves because that is wrong and against your entitelments. Seriously I didn't get my EMA for about 5 weeks, then I attended got it and still got my bonus.
