Numbers show nothing. Winning tactically doesn't mean you can win strategically. Hannibal was beaten in Italy even though he never lost a battle. Westmoreland made the same mistake in Vietnam. It doesn't matter how many Iraqis you shoot if you're just killing them to make a large body count.
