I've been watching several segments about it on discovery, scifi and history channel. As horrifying a theory it is, I love learning about it. If you don't want to watch the video, supposedly it'll pass very close to the earth on (Friday) April 13th, 2029 and earth's gravity will change it's course, but if it passes through this certain area of space called the "keyhole" it'll be on a collision course straight for earth 7 years later in 2036 and that guy said it would hit in the pacific ocean. I have this video about it. I like the SciFi one better though, from Countdown to Doomsday. It said that the chance of it passing throught the keyhole or being pulled into the earth's atmosphere in 2029 is 1/5000. I can't remember which. Any comments?

Very interesting theory, I haven't heard that one. But, the world is supposed to end in 2012, anyway... Apparently the Mayan's know about something with a huge eliptical orbit, that we don't know about.

what the heck could we do?

oh no, the giant meteor might hit us. lets built that huge net to catch it?

if it comes, we die... not even a nuclear warhead could stop something as massive as a meteor.

Or just land a small engine on it and slightly nudge its course.

That would make it worse. Lots of medium sized asteriods...
