I would do it for the sake of art. Not for money. i would love to pose nude for someone to sketch me. I love art.

Yes, I would do it. Only in an artistic class. Not a photography class. I see nothing wrong with it.

Why is it that all these girls have body and image issues? I dunno, but i'd do it in a heartbeat. I'm proud of my body. It's in good shape, health, and natural. Being nude is natural, and I have nothing to be ashamed of. The only reason I don't wear less most of the time, is because it's not socially acceptable to walk around downtown without a shirt on. You can when playing sports or at times, but when people expect you to have clothes on, well they expect it! I wouldn't care who saw me. It's not porno. If i ran for president or something, it wouldn't be like I was in a XXX porn, but was in a piece of ARTWORK! The art is supposed to be helping people learn in class, and beautiful. I've got nothing to be scared or ashamed of. I like my body, and if a picture of it was hung on a wall somewhere, i'd be flattered.

I am an Art major at my Uni. so maybe I can clear some things up. 1) Art students taking a figure drawing class will NOT judge your body. They don't care if you are overweight, skinny, have blemishes, etc. Yea they might take notice but they won't care. They are there to further enhance their skills in figure drawing, nothing else. Art student's are critical about their work, not the models. 2) Not just anyone can take that class. So if you think it be fun to draw naked people, there are courses before that you need to take. Sorry to those who's fun I just ruined. 3) Not just anyone can be a model. Reason: You have to be in a pose (not just standing) for 15+ minutes without moving. Models don't just go up there and stand for a few minutes. They are in poses. With lights hiting them from different directions. At my campus they only hire professionals because "amateurs" can't do it. 4) All types of sizes are welcomed for models. Again, students need to improve their skills and it is always best to have diff. types to draw. 5) If you are worried about other people seeing you (art student's friends) they wont. When you draw a model you don't focus on the detail of the face. This isn't a sketch for a wanted criminal. Most of the times you are lucky if the drawing has any little detail in the face. The reason it is called figure drawing is because you work mostly on the human figure, not face. In such little time to do different poses, student's don't worry about faces. One last thing I didn't mention up there. My art classes run two times a week. Each meeting is 3 hours long. Art student's can't rush through their work. They need time. Consider that as well. Hope I helped. ;) (Edited by ItsMyLife19 at 12:23 am on July 20, 2004)
