Hey, I just thought I'd come here and see what advice I get: I have bipolar disorder, and it's nearly ruined my life. Well, it has ruined my life...but luckily two teams of ER doctors pieced me back together. I've tried suicide twice...and wound up in a psych. ward once. Don't worry, I won't try that again. If anyone wants to hear from someone who was an inch away from death, who felt the peace of eternal rest fall upon them, and subsequently woke up from it...it's NOT worth it. Anyways, coming back from that's been hard. Real hard. I go to a community college now, one semester away from graduating and going on to study communications at a state school. My problem is just getting through some of these days...I started hanging out with friends again, talking to people, working out (rec. boxing, stuff like that)...but sometimes I don't know if I can go on with it all. Now I'm facing a new semester in a week, and I need some money, so I need to get a job. You all ever get that feeling that something just isn't right? I mean in the pit of your soul, something about the future just leaves you feeling vulnerable and weak? I still get that sometimes; I just want to hear about how y'all deal. -MSB

Haha, thanks I guess. I do feel a bit slighted by everyone, considering I'm posting in a forum about these sorts of issues, and everyone is just saying "wow, it must have been bad." Of course it was fucking bad, everyone's life is a little bit shitty now and then. I just had a whole go around in two years, the kind of sort that most people get over, say, fifty. I don't give a fuck, to tell you all the truth. You've got to be who you are, and if people think that it's bad, or sad, then they think that. -MSB

Hey, I can relate to what you are going through. I am a college senior now, about to graduate in one semester. My junior year of college I had a terrifying psychotic episode that made me feel suicidal and highly anxious and landed me in a psych hospital. It was caused by overwhelming stress in my life. I went from being a normal, happy student on a varsity team to wondering if I would have a future after all. It took me almost a year to feel normal again and get my life back. What saved me is having friends that cared about me. In addition to horrible side effects from the antipsychotics they had me take(luckily I am off this now and just on an antidepressant) I also had to deal with the uncertainty of my future- would I recover and be able to graduate with my class? I struggled with two classes while I was still feeling ill and am taking extra classes each semester to catch up. Luckily I did get better and now my life is back on track. I hope you continue on and don't give up even when life gets out of control. To deal with my anxiety disorder I run and exercise on a regular basis. Exercise helps me a lot, as well as having supportive friends. Good luck, and hope you feel better.
