I'm a freshman at a small womens' college and initially I absolutely loved my school. I was doing great in my classes, my campus was beautiful, I loved our goofy little traditions, had a lot of friends and was even in a great a capella group...most of that has since changed. By the second semester(current semester), I lost nearly all of my friends who turned out to be incredibly immature and horribly mean. I was booted out of my a capella group because of my spot checks(I get nervous) even though I did wonderfully in performances. My grades were still good, but without friends or my a capella group I was left with nothing....well a boyfriend, who lives 2 hours away and can't visit every weekend and 2 friends, one of which has severe emotional problems. I've become really depressed and it's awful. The people here are sooo cliquish and different from me. We have a lot of very unusual programs and many of the students, if they aren't in those specific programs transfer. I'm feeling just sooo depressed and stressed. I mean my gpa is a 3.1, with my grades all A's and B's with the exception of french, which i p/nc 'ed this semester. I've applied to 3 different schools- Longwood Univ., Rowan University and Appalachian university. Let's just hope I get in!! I'm just so ready to get out of here and go to a school where I can have the academics but also a social life as well...i want to go to the parties and have fun.
