Your best bet, if you can't update Norton because of an expired subscription, is to download a free alternative. AVG is the most common choice. It works largely the same, you just don't have to pay for it.

You'll probably want to download both and run regular scans to make sure you're completely protected, although for the problem you've got here you need ABG Anti-Virus.
