She had to find a place for the rats while she was in the midst of moving out.

Even if I'm the only one laughing its still worth doing.
Because, in a world of moral ambiguity, laughter, though
fleeting, is the only certainty.

I would look into it if I were you.  See what the consequences are if you were caught with them.  I'm thinking in my dorm, you could be fined like $150 and have them confiscated.

I have a pet frog and the main reason why I got it is because I argued with the RAs and RD about whether or not if a frog should be banned considering frogs have to have water to survive (do not dare get a frog and a toad mized up).  So I got an african albino frog which is about an inch and a half long and lives in a 10 gallon fish tank with a goldfish.  Since I know the RAs and RD rather well (thanks to the fact that the RD is my advisor and for joining Hall Council to get to know them), I was able to get away with it with no problems whatsoever.

What I'm saying is that you should try to get into some connections with some RAs.  Many people don't look at them as normal people in the dorms, but believe it or not, many are really awesome people.

Rats may be rather hard to keep in the dorms.  Some consequences could include; them escaping, your neighbor finding out and reporting you, someone that hates you reports you, some surprise inspection takes place (my school does health inspections), etc.

There are some kids in my hall that have a "contraband" hampster. And apparently there is a kid in my friend's hall who had a single and kept her cat in there with her.

So, if you just make sure your roommate is cool with it and keep it hidden during room inspections, it's not a big deal. I almost got a lizard but I'm going to be abroad junior year and I don't want to have to find a place for it to live when I'm gone. I'm hopefully getting a puppy senior year when I live off campus.

I had a pet rat for a few months, then my RA caught me with it and made me get rid of it (I gave it to my boyfriend who lived off campus, so I still saw it a bunch, then his roommate "accidentally" left the cage open and it ran away).

I've seen people with pet bunnies, and one person with a pet cat (they had a single room that was meant for two people, but his roommate never moved in in the beginning of the year so he had the loft all to himself).

When I was an RA, I would let people bring dogs in for the day, even though I wasn't supposed to. I was very lax with all the rules though, so it really just does depend if you get lucky or not. I wouldn't take the risk if you would get kicked out, but for most smallish pets they let you stay living in the dorms if you get rid of it and don't get in trouble for it again.

So when you're happy (Hurray!), or sad (Aw!),
Or frightened (Eeek!), or mad (Rats!)
An interjection starts a sentence right.

It is good to keep pets with you and feed them.It depends on the  rules ans laws to keep the pets in the room,If you are allowed then there is no harm in keeping pets with you where you live otherwise it would be hard to keep them.

Dont do it, 80% of schools dont allow you to have pets because irresponsible students neglect them and shit and too many problems if majority of students bring in their cats and dogs n mooses etccc so yeah just dont take the chance, maybe they will allow a small fish bowl... lol
