See me I could never be shy. Being shy is just being self conscience. All you need is something about yourself almost conceited...but not really. Confidence is all you need to get rid of it...that will get you friends sooo easily they'll come as much as flav gets a new girlfriend...lol. Personality comes with the confidence

i dont know if this has been said or not, but if you really want to get over shyness, do this exercise.
next time your at the mall, or at a party or a restaurant or something, pick out the prettyest girl at the place. just look at her, admire her, but dont say a word to her or dont make it seem like your looking at her
anyways
as you are leaving, go up to her and compliment her. look her right in the eyes, but dont wait for a compliment back. the key it NO HESITATION. go in, say something like "hi. i just thought i would say that you look really beautiful tonight". then look away and walk away. do it often, and you will find that it helps you with your confidence tlaking to girls ALOT!!

I've got a bit of a story about this. I was at a dance the other day, and having an incredibly hard time approaching anyone (I was stag). So, for most of the duration, I just sort of wandered around kind of geekily. I asked a couple of people to dance, but kind of clumsily. One said no, the other did so for about 30 seconds before wandering off with friends. Finally, towards the end of the dance, I spotted a very cute girl just kind of standing with some friends in a corner. I made a beeline for her and didn't ask, but told her "Come dance with me," and lo and behold she did. A few more dances, and then we sat in a quieter place and talked a little. Long story short, I think I may finally be off the single wagon, after the longest time. That's the benefit of confidence.

Like other teen ager I am also a shy one .Especially before going to face a beauty .I am trying my best to over come shyness.I hope I will cope with it in few years.

Shyness shows that you have no confidence on yourself.There is only one way to get rid of it is self belief.Make yourself mentally strong, and think that you are right.This will help to get rid of shyness.

but does anyone have any advice on being confident around other people who are confident because that is what I find the hardest thing!!!!!!!!!!

I am very shy, always have been, but I have recently been telling myself that I am beautiful and I feel it more now and see a difference in the way people look at me! If you believe it, they will believe it!
