Can you elaborate more? Does it let you play this game, then restart? How old is your pc?

Trojan horse, most likely. Unless it only shuts down when you are playing this game?

Are you out-performing it?

Mine did that twice, a while back... when I was doing some seriously heavy editing (it's not exactly a new computer) it restarted completely on its own.

Only when I was really pushing it, though. It might be your game. Since it's brand new, I'm kinda doubting that it's a virus.

Check your power settings. Right click desktop, hit properties tab, click the power button. Make sure your computer isn't shutting off after a certain time. Make sure it's not hibernating, or standbying, or anything. Check all the settings in the power tab, and that should work.

If your playing a game every time, my guess is that your overheating it.

She said she just got the pc. But it is very possible that it could be overheating from the game, but why would it turn off a half hour after the game? It would turn off during the game right? If it was an overheat. Hmm,

This may sound stupid, but are you resting your foot on the CPU? I've done that before, and end up hitting the restart button.

How could you rest your foot on the cpu? The cpu is inside the casing right? Her computer would have to be open for her to rest her foot on the cpu. And she probably not do that.
