wow... this is one long chain post.
well - here's my pointer: read things during the semester - don't wait to the exams. and if there's something you don't understand, make sure you find a way to understand it. don't drag it out - it can bust up your learning real bad.

The Pomodoro Technique is a great method to study. It involves studying for a 25 minute session followed by a 5 minute break. This system is repeated as necessary. I wrote an in-depth article about it on my site. You can view it here - http://collegethrive.com/using-the-pomodoro-technique-to-study .

The best way to remember things is to memorize it. In order to memorize it try creating mind maps. Mind maps are an easy way to display thing and brain adpats it every easily too.

I study by pacing myself.
I don't just study once a day. But rather, I study in spurts.

I rewrite the notes that my teacher has given me in class. I do time management. I make study guides from what is supposed to be on the test.

Kidding, well kind of.  Not a lot of studying happens on my campus.  I just go through my notes.  But I have a good memory for lectures so I really don't study much.  I just remember everything.  I'm blessed.
