Okay, it's official. From now on, I am never EVER going to buy a video game again for as long as I live without first downloading it from the internet and trying it out.

From Walmart I got this game called Darkspore, but it absolutely sucks and I don't want it at all.

But, they won't take it back and return my money for it, "because of copyright" or some shit like that.

How delightfully ironic.

That's the way it's been since pretty much 2003 for PC games. Rumour has it the next generation of consoles will go this way, too - already you need to purchase a reactivation key to play some used games online.

Fwiw there's a demo of Darkspore. You should always check for a demo before purchasing. They're rare these days for new releases, but Darkspore isn't a new release :P
