Had I lived in Mass at that time, I could have simply moved across the state border and have been free of that law... in order to be free of Obamacare, I'll not only have to move out of the US, I'll have to renounce my citizenship. Romney was a governor accepting the will of the people of his state, why is that a problem?

Don't ask me. I don't know shit about either of the guys. I'm just curious how you feel about it. So you accept the mandate on a state level because it allows or competitive federalism, but oppose it on a national level. If doing the will of the people was Rommney's justification or his bill why is that not acceptable or Obama's?

FYI I think Obamacare is fucked. I hate the idea of being forced to buy something and would rather universal health care like we have here.

At the time Obamacare was forced down our throats, it was unpopular with the majority of Americans... it still is. It doesn't really address "healthcare" or the reform of healthcare, it addresses insurance and redefines what "insurance" means. It also grows government, costs way too much and raises "taxes" on everyone, even those Obama promised wouldn't see their taxes go up at all under his "rule".

Ok, I can see why you hate it. It sounds shittier than I thought it was. But I ask you, if Rommneny promised to raise taxes a little on everyone to pay for and implement a universal health care system similar to the NHS or our Medicare would you support him? Assuming his idea was popular that is.

Well, it wasn't HIS idea... but I'd still be against it. Our Constitution lists the responsibilities of the federal government, supplying healthcare to all the people is not on that list. And, it's government's fault that the cost of our healthcare is so high. Because the government will not take on tort reform, the entire healthcare industry (hospitals, doctors, medical device suppliers, drug manufacturers, anyone involved, even peripherally, in healthcare) have to carry, at great cost, insurance to protect themselves from any and all possible charges of malpractice.
