Yeah I paid $50/hr for mine.

Mine is 9 letter word in script and the place I went too charges $120/hour flat. No bartering.
I paid $113 because it took less than an hour.

I've never seen a good quality tattoo come from a cheap price. Ever.

I feel like I got an excellent deal on mine.  I paid 90 total for the one on my chest, and 100 for the one on my back.  They typically charge per piece if it is small, or 100/ hour.  Mine were both done professionally.  I would never get one done any where other than a professional shop.

my bf's best friend, and bf's brother's girlfriend are both tattoo artists who run their own parlours, so what i spend with them isn't indicative of quality. otherwise, when i've gone to professionals with whom i don't have an 'in' with, i've paid $100 flat or $100 per hour.

basically, if someone is really good at what they do, they're not going to undercharge you.
