You don't know much about linux do you?

Are you sure you got the mac version?  I don't know anything about macs, but is your cd drive set to be bootable?

I have a Mac Mini that I am going to run it on. In Mac you have to Hold down the C key to boot from a disk I think.

I don't think you need to hold it down, just press it after you turn on the computer. Have you tried it without the disc inside?

If you can't get it to work, download the x86 version and wipe out the nearest windows computer and install ubuntu on it.  Might as well make good use of your time right?     In fact, install it on as many computers as you can!  lol

x0oelizabeth & cheapmex69: What do you think Ubuntu is, Windows XP for PowerPC?

Anyway, to address the original poster, be a bit more specific.  Does it not even acknowledge that there's a CD in the drive?  Can you boot from (and/or play) other CD's on your computer?  The information you've given really suggests no reason as to why your computer wouldn't boot the Ubuntu CD.

There are two ways to boot from cd  on a mac.  Well. atleast for my iBook.

1. Hold down the 'c' key when the computer starts
2. Hold down the 'option' key when the computer starts and select the Ubuntu CD icon from the list.

For the second method, If the cd drive isnt a boot option then:
A. Your cd/dvd/whatever drive doesnt work (probably not very likely)
B.  Its not a bootable disk
or
C.  Its for the wrong proc arch.
