Why do some girls behave like this?

Before I start, I just want to say that I'm not insulting anyone, and that I'm fully aware that only SOME people do this.  I just want to know why.

I've had a few girlfriends in the past (and the current one does this as well) who believe that, regardless of how long we've been together and regardless of how serious the relationship is, they must take part in every single decision that I make.  If I'm deciding on a new job, planning on going to school, planning on buying something worth more than $10, etc, and I don't consult the girl, then it turns into a fight because she says she feels like I don't want to make decisions together and I feel like I'm being treated like a little kid who can't make his own decisions.  I'm 19 years old.  I could understand if I was married and we were deciding on a house or a car, and we had to make a decision together, but that's never the case.

The most confusing part is when it comes to a decision SHE is making for herself, if I DID want a say in it (Which I don't) then she would be mad.  I've actually attempted to take part in her decision making before, just to see what would happen since she always does it, and she was pissed.

So basically, why do some girls feel the need to take part in every decision that the guy makes, yet refuses to let anyone take part in their decision making?

This is the third girlfriend I've had that does this.

I continue to make my own decisions, even though it causes fight after fight.  I doubt she thinks I'm incompetent.  She's probably a control freak, like said.  She does seem like she likes to be in control of things.  The others did, too.

That definitely sounds irritating and very controlling. Maybe that's the "type" you subconsciously go for.

What you need to do is sit her down and talk to her. Tell her that you appreciate her concern and input, but that you rather not have her involved in parts of your life where it doesn't concern her (your job, school, etc).  That just because you guys are a couple doesn't mean you have to share and be involved in every aspect of each others' lives. If she gets mad, flip the switch on her. Ask her how she'll feel if the roles were reversed.
