So I spent my morning reading the Freeh Report. The report is  over 100 pages of the actions of The Pennsylvania State University surrounding Sandusky.  Yes I read it all I know kinda nerdy but for someone as myself who studies child development found it very interest . But it made me really pissed I never realized how bad it was or the cover up and how many people really knew about it.

Sandusky Started coaching at Penn State in 1969. The assaults started in 1998 in the Penn state  locker shower room.

The victim's mother reported the 1998 incident to campus police the same night it happened.-Police Chief Thomas Harmon told University Vice President Gary Schultz: "We're going to hold off on making any crime log entry. At this point in time I can justify that decision because of the lack of clear evidence of a crime."

For over 10 years Sandusky assaulted over 8 different boys. On Penn State property. But what is truly sicking is how many people knew about it for that 10 years.

Four of the most powerful people at The Pennsylvania State University President Graham B. Spanier, Senior Vice President-Finance Gary C. Schultz, Athletic Director Timothy M. Curley and Head Football Coach Joseph V. Paterno failed to protect against a child sexual predator harming children for over a decade.

How could all four of them cover something as huge as this up. But the campus police department and other works on campus also covered it up  Exp. Janitors, Asst football couches, Asst athletic director.

The vice president and Athletic director has charges agenst them. The president was able to voluntary step down. Paterno was fired and took a lot of hate. Before his death.

Of the last week Paterno name has been taken down from buildings. Today they removed his statue  from the Stadium. But some people still think he did no wrong. I understand Paterno was Penn state he lived for penn state. But how can people think he did no wrong?

The NCAA is holding a press conference in the morning. To announce what punishment they will receive. They could get anything from a whole season suspended or just fines. But nether of these are appropriate. Making the university pay fines is  a slap on the wrist. But taking away the football program or games hurt the students now or taking away scholarships.

Also Penn state is remodeling the shower and locker room in the  Lasch building. But I dot think that is good enough! When people talk about Penn State they wont be talking about about how great the game was. Or how Paterno was a legend to the school. People are going to remember  this sex scandal. This is way worse then the Duke lacrosse scandal and.. Almost as bad as the Easter Michigan murder scandal.

There's no reason to hurt the students. They are not the ones responsible for heinous acts on the part of the university.

You spend your time reading 100 page reports and that's the best display of grammar you can come up with?

My heart aches for the victims. What happened to them is the most heinous of all crimes. They'll get their justice once Jerry Sandusky is sentenced in the coming months, but even the most sever sentence will never erase the lifetime trauma these victims endured and will endure as long as they're living.

To my understanding, anyone who was in charge of the University when these crimes were taking place have either resigned or been fired and facing criminal charges.

I was a Joe Paterno supporter prior to the new evidence of a "cover up" coming to light. No one on that campus had more authority than Joe Paterno. He is/was PSU. But he also had a long career at PSU. A long career where he did a lot of good for the university, community, and student body and people need to remember that also.  He definitely made mistakes.

This will definitely be a blemish on the University and on Joe Paterno legacy.

Suspending the football program, handing out fines, taking away scholarships won't erase what happened. I don't think it's fair to punish a new generation for the mistakes/crimes committed by the people who are no longer involved with the university. I'm sure the NCAA will do whatever they feel is appropriate.

If the program had found out that their defensive coordinator was involved in something like this and they actually turned him in then they wouldn't receive any penalty at all. The fact that they covered this up to preserve their program's image is almost as sick as Sandusky himself.

Part of me thinks they don't deserve another chance. They are placing the program, Paterno and their community above the lives of the victims.
