i barely took my urine drug test yesterday, and i was worried about it. does this mean i passed the drug test, theyre just testing because they have to, or they havent gotten the results yet?

the recruitment manager was talking to me about my start date and that i can come in immediately if i wanted to. the job is 5 hours away, so i dont want to drive all the way over there and find out i failed the drug test...

should i be worried, or just drive up there and see what happens?

well when would you start otherwise? just say you're far away atm and busy but that you could start next week or something (when i'm sure they'd have the results by). while drug tests aren't complicated they may get sent away for testing i think so it may take a few days and for potential employees i don't think it's super high priority. depends on the method they use anyway.

They might not even have the results yet. It's very possible that he called you just assuming that you had passed. You'll find out soon enough, i'm sure

My current employeer had my drug test within 24 hours.

Where did you have the drug test done?  When I was working in primary care, we had urine cups that did instant drug tests, so it's possible they already have the results.

What kind of job is it?

Cops are wonderful assessment tools at a HazMat incident.
Send them in with a lit road flare.

If they don't pass out or blow up, it's safe.

minimum wage i think. and its only 16-20 dollars a week off my paycheck to live there.

This. My current employer drug tests and I tend to just assume that people pass. It usually takes us about 48-62 hours to get a test result back, but it can really vary and depend on a lot of factors.
