He's only 17. He said he got pressured into drinking with the guys so he had 2nshots of Hennessy. 30 minutes later they took 1 more shot. He started feeling good (buzzed) and a little more time passed they took a 4th shot. Then a 5th and a 6th. 6 shots of Hennessy under 2 hours. He's about 160lbs 5'10-5'11 As far as I know he's never drank that much before. Or close to it. He said he blacked out and woke up to his friends calling him asking if he's okay. He got up walked to the table, threw up and fell over again. He woke up to his friends saying "dude lets go someone's calling the cops" and he's like "I can't". He blacked out and woke up when he was being placed into the ambulance. Blacked out and woke up in the hospital 4 hours later hooked up to IVs. My parents told him not to tell me. I'm pissed because what's better than an older sister telling a younger brother about this? All my fucking parents ever do is say "don't do this" but never explain why. Never explain the consequences. They fucking take my alcohol away and I'm 22. I'm more pissed at his "friends" who didn't call 911 and even told him to get up so that they could leave before the ambulance got there. What if he fucking died?? If I ever see those pieces of shits I'm going to fucking tear their assholes apart with a fucking 10 inch wide medal pole.

If it's any consolation, this will become a fun little "so the first time I ever got really drunk..." story to tell to friends in a few years.

Well, his friends may not have realized the problem. I mean, they think you just get drunk and pass out and throw up... that's normal for teenagers to think, right? A lot of people never really even consider the fact that drinking too much CAN kill people.

You should be angry with him, not his friends.

Dude. Everyone goes through that. At least his friends still cared and stayed around instead of ditching... and asked if he was okay. 6 shots of what, 40-60%? At 160 pounds... not going to kill you. I'm not much of a drinker, but at least I know that much.
In the 104 degree sun, he. Ate nothing before either.

I dunno, I may have been inclined to think he was alright and just REALLY drunk too. But then, I would never have pressured him (or anyone for that matter) into drinking any, much less that much, particularly if they're inexperienced. I WOULD however, have gotten some food and water in him and taken a little more care to make sure he was alright... why were his friends worried about the cops/amulance showing up? Underage?

It'll do him the world of good. Teach him a lesson. A similar story occurred with my 16 year old cousin last year, which we all found absolutely hilarious. I mean, six shots of Hennessy over two hours really isn't that much. You can't blame his friends for thinking he would be able to handle it. And at the end of the day, it's his own fault for drinking it - nobody held his mouth open and threw it down his throat. It's his own fault, it's his own lesson, and it's his job now to learn from it. It's your job, as big sister, to absolutely rip the piss out of him and find the whole episode hilariously funny.
pretty much this you gotta take life laughing or crying, and in this case, thankfully, it's a lot easier to laugh. obviously your parents have fucked views on alcohol, so i think you should take it upon yourself to instill a responsibility about drinking (because he obviously will again). if you teach him well, you won't be worried again.

yeah. I have no idea how old the other 2 guys were who had supplied the alcohol. Whether they stole it from mom/dad or were over 21. IDK where you're from but legal drinking age is 21. He's 17. If they were supplying it to him and they were 21 they could go to jail.

thanks guys. he just seems so easily influenced and we were never close growing up. so talking to him feels a little awkward.
