There's plenty of texts and religious writings discussing guys masturbating, and either being neutral about it or utterly condemning it... but they're almost entirely silent about the subject of girls pleasuring themselves, and bringing themselves to orgasm.

Why? Do they believe that girls aren't capable of doing so, or simply don't feel sexual pleasure at all? Or do they just not care about girls doing it, while a guy doing it is "wrong"?

I mainly mean more modern religions like Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc, but even historical ones seem to focus more on male masturbation than female...

Well I'm no expert, but I would assume that it's because it was assumed for centuries that women had no interest in sex at all. Sex was thought of as a man's thing that a woman just put up with as part of her duties as wife. And, obviously, to produce children.  

I don't know much about globally, but this attitude was pretty prominent in much of the English-speaking (which was predominantly Christian) world. People just figured that women didn't masturbate because they didn't have sexual urges like men.

haha true there is an example they believe to be in the bible in genesis chapter 37 onan was to impregnant a woman but didn't want to so he spilled his seed and was slayed cause he didnt do it
