I really want to get my conch pierced, but I have a couple of questions: 1) How is it pain wise? I know it varies from person to person, but how was it for you? How does it compare to other piercings? I have my lobes, helix, rook, tragus and navel pierced. 2) What gauge is it usually pierced at? 3) How long does it generally take to heal? I'm guessing about a year or so since it's cartilage. 4) How easy is it to switch from straight to curved jewelry? I really like the look of rings in conch piercings, much better than I like the look of barbells. 5) Anything else I should know?

Are you talking about the inner one? I had my outer one done yesterday and it didn't hurt, but I imagine there's a huge difference between the two.

Everyone says I should get it done with a bar, but I like the look of conch piercings with a ring 10x better...it's also cheaper to get it done with a ring...what should I do?

Get it done with a bar. When you're cleaning it you're supposed to turn the ring/bar/etc a full rotation, and I imagine that'd be easier with a bar. You can just switch to a ring in like 2 or 3 months once the initial healing is done.
