Does anyone have any particular things that they do in order to study? I have to memorize large amounts of detailed information and I find it kind of overwhelming. I can remember things for a little while (from when I learned them in class) but the information slips away from me as I start to learn new things...

relate it to something you know or make it very odd and out there. The more weird something is the more likely you are to remember it or the more it relates to you the better you are to remember it.

Since you are memorizing large quantities of information in a short time period, start with the simple, basic things. Memorize those. Build on top of that.. But when building, recite the previous things you've learned as well.

For memorizing, I'll often record what I need into mp3 format (just me reading it out loud) then put it on my phone where I can listen to it over and over and over, sometimes I'll even listen to it while I sleep. Other than that, I write things down over and over.

Write everything that you need to remember while saying and reading what you are writing. Use index cards.
