Chances are things have changed. Especially if you have had hormones in your system. It would not hurt to have it removed, and see how you handle it. That's what I would do. You can always get one put back in, or go on an oral contraceptive. Also, if you aren't ready for a baby, still be careful. Low sperm count doesn't mean no sperm count. Sometimes things surprise us. Even post vasectomy pregnancy can occur.
My partner is a transsexual. Her medication drops her sperm count. As long as she's on that medication, it will not change. We also always use the withdrawal method. Both things considered, as well as from what the doctor has said, there really isn't a point in the IUD as a birth control method. I was thinking the same thing you said. That I could try it... but I didn't have a great experience having the IUD put back in, and I'd rather avoid having to do it again so prematurely, lol. I can also only take progesterone only pills (because I have migraine with aura, the other pills increase my chance of stroke), and the reason I switched to IUD was because the pills were making me have light periods for weeks at a time. I was on my period more often than I was off it. The thing is... the hormones in the pills are the same as the IUD, but I've had much better periods with the IUD in... But I suppose my only option is to really just try it out and see how it goes...
