Im really fascinated by america & Americans. Im not sure why. Im English and always just think of nice beaches & cool high schools.

is it weird to think it would be cool to live life as an american for 1 day to see how different it is?

Are american high schools like in the films? (All the cheerleaders and 'jocks' are popular) and the geeks are seriously picked on?

Lool, i know its random but i was watching mean girls and it popped into my head :L...

Believe me, no country in North America is any better than Europe. Not in the least.

Their schools are as perfectly rubbish as any you'll find anywhere else in the Western world. And for the most part, the beaches stink. Literally and figuratively. At least the ones I've seen, anyway... legions of jellyfish, ugh.

No, it's really not like the movies.  Sure there are cliques, but nothing as over exaggerated as in the movies.  There are your cool kids in every class, but many times none of them are cheerleaders or jocks etc.

My high school really didn't have a lot of picking on others or bullying.  There was occasional teasing at best, but no real bullying.

I never really saw any cliques, just a large web of people who were all friends and such with each other. (I was outside of it)

There were so many people that there wasn't really anyone who was "popular", except for this one guy I knew, but he was a bit of a ridiculous case... people were just people. No real physical bullying either. I just wasn't able to socialize with anyone myself.

Can't speak for all high schools, but mine was somewhat like that. The athletic types and cheerleaders were loved by all, and the nerds basically ignored or mocked.

LOL, people think this way ALL THE TIME. People in America think Europe is better and likewise for Europe. And if America is like in the films are sterotypes. Jocks are popular and cheerleaders are as well for their apearances and the attention the get.

Geeks are not so much picked on... I actually know a lot of people who watch anime and aren't geeks. The geek percentage is quite large where I am

High school in America is NOTHING like the high schools depicted in American movies!

& no, it is not weird to think it would be cool to live as an American for one day. We are a curious bunch. Different culture, very diverse nation. Acting on your curiosity will make you well-rounded. Stay inquisitive!
