So I see there's a cool new plan to involve members more in policy disussion. I wasn't around when you guys came up with this idea (which I really like actually) so I probably missed the reasoning already to my question but here it goes.
What's the purpose behind stating which mod had which opinion/vote? I don't get it.

so that members know where we stand on issues and can engage the mods directly in a better more facilitated conversation.

Isn't there an unease about members going after a mod because of their opinion?
I know opinions are meant to be had, and debated, etc and Mods should be able to state WHY they have an opinion. I suppose this part of the decision just surprised me. Seems irrelevant. Why not just have a member do a shout of why a certain opinion was had and a mod who has it can touch on it?

believe me this was hashed out in excruciating detail and all those concerns were addressed. Its late but i can go back to the topics and pull out the reasoning for you, if you are interested.
Just a general interest in being as transparent as possible to facilitate member trust and engage them in conversation in a more meaningful way.

No, don't worry Carie but thank you. I was just curious since it just seems kind of.... pointless but nothing wrong with it.
Overall a great new idea.

Basically the reasoning behind it was wanting to increase transparency as much as possible. There was only one mod who voiced that they were uncomfortable with it, but didn't want to hold the team back or whatever.
I'm not sure just how much I understood the benefit of adhering our names to it, but as I personally didn't mind my name shown then I didn't hold it back.
There was a move to try to move all mod topics out of the mod forum so that they are publically viewable. This was understandably met with more concern, and didn't pass.
