Do you think anyone ever could beat the American army?

I thought they always said the US is undefeatable... kind of like how they said the RMS Titanic was unsinkable, I suppose.

On a one on one scenario, no other nation could single handedly beat the US military. But given the right situation and system of alliances, we could be beaten.

And that's a retarded example to use. You could have used the Romans, Germans, Spartans, Napoleon, but instead you used the Titanic.

And do you think the American army really could be defeated? IMO it would probably take an alliance of many different nations working together with one amassed army to truly beat it.

You realize that it's a game of hide and seek right? Not an actual war. When insurgents fight, they lose. So they hide, and use guerrilla warfare.

And Kuwait was invaded by Iraq in the early 90's, we invaded from Saudi Arabia to liberate Kuwait and then beat Iraq the first time.
We didn't fight Kuwait.

And the actual fighting between nations is horribly one sided over there, we actually had to slow down advances, and handicap ourselves because we were killing them too efficiently too quickly. The media was crying about it, fucking hate the media. We aren't fighting Afghanistan, we're fighting terrorist and insurgency cells inside Afghanistan, with the Afghani government. Plus it's not just the US, it's a whole multitude of different countries....people seem to forget this. And it's guerrilla warfare, it's near the same as a stand up war, and ya can't really just stamp it out. You need to occupy and actively fight it for generations, that's the job of the Afghani government.

Anyway, the US military holds bases all over the world. If it was beaten, and America destroyed, lots of nations would lose billions of dollars a year from that alone, and the world economy completely fucked up. More importantly it'd create an immense power vacuum that would lead to a lot of different either direct or proxy wars as different nations fought for control of the areas that used to be under the US thumb. Some people may denounce hegemony, but in the grand scope of things it makes keeping world peace and relative order a lot easier.
