I feel pretty silly asking this, but it's been bothering me for a while: Is it hard to make friends in college? I asked one of my cousins (college first-year), and his answer was that it's easy, but I don't know if it'll be the same for me. See, he's a loud, good-looking, fun "band geek" while I'm this quiet, shy, pessimistic theatre-person that has a hard time meeting people; I don't really think I'll be able to meet anybody that I would want to be friends with. What would you say?

Wel... i havent been to college but if we went to the same college Im sure we would be friends cause we're not that different...

I would think it would be easy to make friends seeing as most of them will probly not know many other people and will be wanting to make new friends. Loads of people feel like that just try not to be too shy cus it can sometimes put people off.

For me, i kind of had a hard time meeting people. The reason was because after highschool me and my parents moved like 3 hours away from where i grew up and i started at a new college. But since i lived so close i was a commuter. It seemed like everyone that dormed there made friends real easy because they all knew each other. The same was true for other commuters, because they all went to the same highschools or whatever. But me, moving into a new town and just basically going to class, it wasn't that easy meeting people. I'm kind of shy too so maybe that is why.

Oh, yes! I thought I was going to have just as much problems as you thought you would. I'm meeting new people everyday. Most people in my building know me but I don't know them. This is so much different than high school, and I really like it.
