I've changed my mind.
Genetic completeness constitutes life.

Heh I've had plenty of retards attempt to tell me that an embryo or fetus isn't alive, but mearly a mass of stuff that 'becomes' alive...

Heck one of them was a 'bio major'...

I'd like to see you provide a cogent definition of what constitutes "life" that we can all agree on.

He doesn't need to. Biologists and MDs have already provided guidelines for that.

It's really quite simple in my mind.  Something is "dead" when it stops fighting for its own existence.  Any living organism on this planet while do what it can to keep from rotting.  A "dead" corpse just let's itself be decomposed by the environment, therefore, not trying to survive, and therefore, not alive.

Yes, it's true that life consists of consuming and reproducing... But where would you start the analysis of something being alive? Would you base it strictly on cellular level? And if you did, what about when other cells infiltrate and thrive off of the dying cells?

Certainly there's more to life than consuming and reproducing... otherwise the trailertrash would be ideal human beings!

When was being human ever mentioned? Wasn't this supposed to be about the definition of life? People seem to be getting off topic.
