What do you think about the movie, but more importantly, how do you feel about the concept of the holy bloodline being the grail? Do you believe that there is a chance that Mary Magdalene was the wife of Jesus?

Dan Brown is a novelist, so he wrote a fictional story, (he even claims itself to be a story http://www.danbrown.com/novels/davinci_code/faqs.html ) fair enough. Its interesting, not the best story every, but not the worst.

It's a good book, that's my only opinion on it.  It just seems that people forget all the time that it's a novel, not a non-fiction book.  It's just an idea, not a fact.  People have over-exaggerated the idea to the extent that it seems like a fact instead of fiction.  Does every book we read have to be true, or the ideas from it?  The DaVinci Code just happened to be a good book that luckily came around at a good time.  There are plenty of other books like that around.

Is it possible that the ideas from The DaVinci Code are true?  Who bloody cares?  It's what you take from the book that determinds what you think could happen.  I don't even take non-fiction books 100% seriously, because every person has a different point of view on the same matter.  I don't see why this book needs so much attention, since other books like it have been written years before TDC was ever put on a piece of paper.

well i believe their is a chance that its true, but there's also a chance the i might get struck by lighting when i leave for school but as said it is just a novel and should not be taken as fact.

i forgot to answer to answer the first question...

anyway i haven't actually seen the movie but i have read the book and it was pretty good, it wasn't great the writing style was weak but it was a good story none the less

It's fiction. It makes for good reading. Is it interesting? Yes. But it's based on fictional ideas that are used for entertainment.
Besides, does Jesus sound like He has time for a wife?

Apparently, I'm capable of writing a more verbose post. This leads to sentences such as this, which are nonsensical, used to take up space.

I have a question. Even if it was true..how would you prove it? How would it affect your daily life? Jesus could have been married and still have been sin free...Jesus could have been married and still have been the savior of the world..Jesus could have been married and still said the things he said, done the things he did, and died on a cross for our sins.

The gospels dont say he wasnt married, they just dont mention it. They dont lie, they dont hide it, they dont do anything. John says that there arent books that could contain all the stories about Jesus...maybe this is one of those stories...

Salvation in Christ is not a mere intellectual philosophy

but an integrated redemption of the whole person.

Dan Brown is a two-bit hack and the Da Vinci Code is nothing more than a formulaic pulp novel who's true quality is merely cowering beneath the foggy umbrella of controversy.

The Da Vinci Code

Foucault's Pendulum written in a 12th grade vocabulary

It's not a great work.  The cliffhanger-style chapters are reminiscent of someone who spent too much time watching serials as a child.

It's amusing that it's stirring up all the zealots, but it's also a little embarassing that such a mediocre book is the current symbol of religious doubt in the western world.

I believe it. I think it makes a lot of sense and then again I think that the entire Christian church is a joke? The vow of celibacy? Who on Earth thought that up? Humans would be extinct if we were all devout Christians and then what would happen? We would all die and find that bthere is no God and we have been praying to nothing and doomed our race, all for unproved statements!

What?

All devout Christians are celibate?

It's just a book. And not that great of a book at that. I read it, but at the end, I couldn't help but think "That's it? That's all that people were upset about?". Pretty anti-climatic.

It's sad that this book is stirring up so much controversy. In my opinion, it'd do the christian church good to try and accept new ideas, or at least consider them.

I enjoyed the book and also enjoyed how it exposed the idiocy and predictability of the world at large. It basically proves that anyone will believe anything so long as it gives them some sort of meaning or purpose. Theories like this have been around for hundreds of years but it was not until dan browns book that every athiest and their mother began saying that these theories somehow make christianity unreal...
