So I'm a poor college student, I have been thinking of putting together a little cook book. Pick out your favorite recipe and type it up make sure that the sum of all the required ingredients cost less the ten dollars and submit it as a post in this topic. Things like sugar, flower, milk and butter do not have to be accounted for but things like special spices should be included as a cost.

Format as follows:

Name
total estimated cost.
cook time
ingredients list/amounts/estimated cost
cooking instructions

All entry's must include the above to be considered.

All entry's will appear on my web site with credit given to the author (if your would like your real name listed please contact me via PM) unless you specifically ask me not to post it.

Please make separate post for multiple recipes.

300pts for the winner, 100pts for the runner up (both chosen by me).

Because of the inactivity of this forum I thought I might leave this contest open for a while so it will end on the 9th of June (my birthday:>).

Ooooh, what  fun contest.  Can it be something I got from an actual recipe and then added my own stuff to it?

Okay, these are like the most awesome things ever. Feel the power of the Jew food!

From "Jewish Cookery," by Florence Greenberg"

  • White of 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons of ground almonds
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of caster sugar [superfine]
  • icing sugar [powdered]

Beat the egg white to a stiff froth; add caster sugar, cinnamon and ground almonds and mix thoroughly. Roll into small balls and bake on a greased tin in a slow oven (350 F, Regulo No. 3) for 18 minutes.

They're the most yummiest thing ever. Who says they're just for passover

1 can of stewed tomatoes                      Price: $1.49*
