chiles rellanos

if chiles are in season you can buy a pound for 150, if not you can buy canned pablano whole chiles in the store in most places and they are 159 at my walmart...

1 can of chiles or 6 fresh chiles                 1.59-2.00
6 eggs                                                  .79$
3 flour
oil deep enough to fully submerge chile, in my pan it takes about 10 oz and i can cook 2 at a time     1.29$
block of cheddar cheese                          2.00
1/2 lb ground hamburger                         2.00
seasoning

before you begin: if the chiles are fresh you have to roast them. if you dont have a grill, just throw them on a baking sheet and broil them in the oven for about 20 minutes or until they start looking brown. let them cool and skin them, and seed them

brown hamburger meat and season, drain and set aside
grate cheese
in a shallow wide bowl put egg whites in a bowl and beat them until they are stiff..you can gradually add in the yolks as they begin to stiffen, and you may need to add some baking poweder as well (no more than 1/4 teaspoon) if you live at a high altitude

stuff peppers with meat and cheese, and kind of roll together so the stuffing doesnt fall out
dip in flour, and then dip in egg white and drop into hot oil
brown on one side, flip, and brown on the other, remove and drain...

the best chiles rellanos in the world

appx total cost $8.08

oooh oki i like this recipe
um im not excatly sure how much it costs cuz i dotn know how much food costs in texas if its the same as in ny but under $10 n it makes a bunch of food

1 pound bag maccaroni (any kind u want)
3 of those little like i think 8oz cans of tomatoe sauce
1/2 pint of hevy cream
1 cup of milk
3 chieck cutlets (really however many as u want tho)

1. um cook macaronie (itll say how on the bag but just boil n throw it in pretty simple lolx)

2. at the same time put in the sauce (in a diff, smaller pot but not too small) and wait till like u start to c a bit of bubbles popping up and thnen pour in 1/2 the cream and 1/2 the milk  -stir- (DONT LET IT START BOILING if it does turn off the heat n wait a min for it to cool then jus turn heat back on agen)

3. after u have just put the sauce wash and clean ur chicken n cut it into small strips maybe like the size of ur thumb n that width i mean dont measure exactly but about that size or a bit bigger is good cook it in a pan on the stove if u have room if u dont u can cook it in the oven but i dotn know how long that will take being as i have never really cooked it that way but u shuld be able to tell

4. gradually add in the rest of the milk/ cream to the saucee and keep stirring it

5. watch the chicken it doesnt take long to cook when its done turn off the heat and add it to the sauce (yes also make sure u ahv room in ur sauce pot for it)

6. the maccaroni shuld be done soon when its nice and soft or however u like it take it out and strain it for about a minute

7. then just pour it in a plate and mix it with the sauce (witht he chicken) and eat it

its reaaly yummiefulls
lol it might sound hard the recipe but its really not iv been cooking it by myself since i was like 12 lol (i was bored n was like hmm what can i make lol so i kinda made it up its good tho i swear)

lol well hav fun n good luck =)

Not so healthy, but oh so vegan and oh so good potato chips.

Yum... I love potato chips, but when I went vegan I didn't know what else was fried in the oil that the chips were fried in... so I gave up trying to find a vegan kind. Now I have my own! They taste different than regular potato chips, so don't expect them to taste the same.... especially with the different root vegetables.

Ingredients:

1 carrot             1.00
1 potato            1.00
1 sweet potato   1.00
Cooking Oil (Canola oil, vegetable oil, etc).

You can add any other root vegetable you want... but those are pretty basic.

Put the oil into the pan unti there is a thin layer that covers the bottom of the pan. Turn the heat onto medium high. (You'll be able to tell when the oil is hot when you put a drop of water into the oil and it spits/ sizzles) (Remember... for grease fires NEVER put water on them, always use salt) Wash and peel off the outside of the vegetable. Then Peel the vegetable into thin slices (about the size of a potato chip) if you don't have a vegetable peeler... then you can cut them into thin slices with a knife. Just be sure to make them very thin.

Once the oil is hot put some of the vegetables into the pan (don't over fill it or they won't cook right). If necessary, flip the chips over so that they can get crisp on both sides. Watch until the vegetables are crispy then remove them and place them on a paper towel. Salt or add any seasonings if you wish.

Ta-da! Your own, vegan, chips! YAY!

Total Cost: Less than $5, depending on the price of your vegetables.
