Alright LiveWire, help me out here.

I've got 2 weeks of vacation to use up. I'll be leaving in the middle of May and going to the beginning of June. My initial plan was to go to Vietnam/Cambodia, but I'm hesitant for several reasons: a) I'm really nervous to travel there alone b) it's expensive to go on a tour, which is the only way I'd feel safe by myself c) I only have two weeks.

So now I'm thinking I'd rather either a) go to a country where they speak English, so I feel more comfortable or b) go somewhere closer to home, such as Costa Rica.

Have you been to any of these places? Thoughts? Thanks all!

I'd have to go with Scotland/Wales, as I have never been there and would love to go. I'd love to visit many of the European countries. Germany, England, Ireland, Poland and so on.

I take it that Banff is too backyard-esque for you? I almost had the opportunity to go while in Calgary for business a year ago, but we ended up having an issue that ate up more time than we expected.... otherwise I think a lot of this would kinda depend on what kinds of things you like to do while on vacation.

Let's see. US, Italy, Spain, Montenegro. Not much, I know, but I'm working on it. :) I try to travel every time I have some time off. A vacation is just not a vacation if you don't go to some new exciting place. :) I plan to spend my next vacation in Rome. By the way, does anyone know whether I can rent a Segway there? I tried a Madrid Segway tour when I was in Spain last year, but I guess it's much more interesting when you do this with a tour guide. A great way to see more in a shorter time, I suppose, especially when your vacation is not that long. :)
