Ok, so what do you have so far? Do you know to make a GUI in Java? Do you have an idea how to program any aspects yet?

Well, I've got a problem now. I decided I'd better remind myself of how Java worked so I opened Command Pronpt and you know the bit where you type"cd C:\Java" that doesn't work.

No idea what you are talking about. I've always used an IDE. I know you can compile and run from the command prompt but I've never done it.

Do you actually have the JRE and JDK installed?  If you do, you just type "java whatever_program" to run a program and "javac whatever_you're_compiling" to compile.  If neither of these work, odds are you don't have it installed.  That said, rather than using the command prompt, why don't you take advantage of something like JCreator.  It's extremely easy to work with.

I don't know much about Java but I'm pretty positive that the command is cd\Yourdirectoryhere.
