Use oil.
Coconut oil.
Or baby oil from the dollar store if you want to be cheap.

Honestly, I've been doing it and it's great. It's messier, and you'll definitely have to use bath cleaner to clean the tub from the oil residue, but it's sooo worth it.

Just wet your legs, apply some oil, just a little bit, and then shave. You'll need a washcloth to wipe the razor off and a bowl of water, but it's sooo worth it.

sooo worth it

You legs look and feel so much better. It's moisturizing and lets you get a close shave with out cuts.

I did it like three days ago, my legs had very very little stubble today, and it took like 5 minutes to touch up.

I don't shave my face so I don't know.

I think it would, but I'm not sure how great the effects of an oil on your facial pores would be.

Unless you used a face wash like right after, then you might be okay.

Abxolutely.  I use a mixture of oils on my face, then shaving cream and get a very smooth, close shave.  Always the best.

I once heard that one should refrain from shaving up because it might cause ingrown hairs.

I've heard the same, but I some people, in fact some races, are more prone to ingrown hairs than others.  I've never had that problem, so I do it both ways.
