They're wanting a Samoyeds dog? Or something like that? (I don't know how to properly use it in a sentence, but anyways....) And they are wanting to keep it inside our home.

I googled pictures of it and it is soooo fuzzy!  Could you imagine all the fur that would be EVERYWHERE?

I don't want this dog at all. Why couldn't they want something with less fur and a lot cuter. :/

/endrant.

You don't find that dog cute?
What is wrong with you..
They are lovely pets, and you'd think they would shed a lot but as long as you keep care of it, brush it and clean it, it will not shed all over the place.

Samoyed bow their coat, just like any other spitz-type dog. It is not difficult to keep their fur out of the way. you just have to brush them at least a few times a week. hand-stripping keeps the coat from becoming unruly. they are a great breed.

What's "bow their coat" mean?

I've heard they're good dogs, I still don't want one. I'd rather have a Lab, husky, or Boxer or something of the sort haha.

sorry, meant 'blow'. Huskies do this as well. twice a year, they shed their fur all at once, as opposed to a Lab that shed huge amounts constantly. they have a lot of fur, but it's actually much easier to deal with in terms of shedding.

maybe you could steer them towards a dog with hair, instead of fur, then (Maltese, Havanese, Yorkshire Terrier). or another low-shedding breed.

look for terriers with harder coats (Border Terriers are great, as are Irish Terriers) and other hard-coated or wire-coated breeds, as well as curly-coated breeds (Poodles, Portuguese Water Dogs) or certain sighthounds (Saluki, Italian Greyhound)

Maybe. I think they're wanting to start showing and/or breeding dogs. So they want something "pretty" although, I hate the idea. Anything they do anymore pisses me off now though. lol.

thank you for the suggestions though! I appreciate it! I'll try to look into those dogs some. :D

Their coat requries a heavy amount of upkeep. DAILY upkeep actually... Unless you plan on getting them shaved at the groomers to avoid matting, dirt and grime getting embedded in their coat, etc... Its a hassle. This is another reason I MUCH prefer breeds like pitbulls and dobermans who have sleek short coats that are easy to maintain.

Those dogs also need a lot of excersize... Hopefully your parents are aware of this and dont plan on just letting it have free rein of the indoors...
