1- the contract never mentions anything...
2- i live on my owen so I'm not violating the contract...

He called me to day to tell me that the aparment is rented for only one person and that he hadn't told me before because I had my companion over. He's exact words, heres the thing yes I've had my facebook stay over on the weekend but he is not living here.

Am I somehow violating my contract or is he harassing me?
Is he tecnicly saing I can't have anyone over because the contract says I am the only one liveing here?

I've rented many apartments before and this is the first time I come across a situation like this, HELP!!!

Sounds reasonable of him. I've interviewed to rent a few apartments that state this verbally as well. A bit annoying, but with their rights.

But I don't have anyone living with me... Staying a weekend doesn't count as living with someone...

Nonsense. Unless it's in the contract, and possibly even if it is, it's okay to have people stay over who don't live there.

A rental agreement can state you can't have any overnight guests.  Absent that being specified, you can have overnight guests.

In general, only the people listed on the rental agreement can live there.

This begs the question: what constitutes "living there?"  Sometimes a landlord will say something to the effect "anyone staying more than ___consecutive days or ____days in a month will be considered living there."
Absent that, 2 days would not reasonably be considered living there.

I think you should talk to your landlord about what he considers living there.

If it's really a problem, see if you can consult a lawyer and see what he or she has to say.

I think I'm in my right to invite whom ever I want when ever I want as long as they don't live here... But I guess he doesn't but technically it's not in the contract so he has no right to be telling me about it now... Plus if I would have wanted to have strict rules about guest I would have rented a dorm room or something like that....

If someone has another residence where they receive mail and they do not receive any mail at your address, the number of days they stay there is not wholly important, and not up to the landlord to decide. I have see very dodgy contracts by landlords overtepping their authority, trying to make the law up themselves, and infringing on tenants' rights. You can have guests over, end of story. Tell him if he has a problem to take it up in the proper legal manner. If he's not prepared to then either he realises he's talking shit or he's a dodgy landlord who doesn't want to expose himself to the legal system out of fear that something he intended to keep secret may come out.

If you're really in the virgin islands, I don't know what the situation is.  What I said is standard contract law for the US.

That being the case, I would talk to him about it and specifically ask where it says you can't have overnight guests.  If he claims anyone who stays the night is living there, point out to him you can prove this person lives somewhere else. therefore he/she cannot live there.

I would be absolutely shocked if that weren't violating some sort of law in the US.
