I think you should take what I say about a sexual predator with a grain of salt, or in other words, don't take it seriously. Your tone and the way you're approaching me is a bit accusatory. I've not done anything wrong. Where have I defended EiC? Where did I say that I'm on "his side"? Because that sort of implies I am when you suggest I have Stockholm Syndrome. I'm not sympathetic to EiC nor any other sexual predators.

When I say I miss someone, that could mean that I miss the good things about them, not the bad things. Did you ever consider that? I've never had an unpleasant interaction with EiC. He never approached me with his sexually predatory behavior. It was actually quite shocking to find out he's that kind of person. To me, simply exchanging words isn't enough to claim friendship. Him and I are not friends and we do not have a meaningful relationship. He was one of the few members here that I could actually tolerate at times. That's what I miss.

Think of it this way, if I had met someone who's known to be a pretty bad person yet they treated me with the utmost respect, do you think I'm going to say that they're a bad person even when they treated me right? I don't really follow what people say about someone. I think I would have to find out for myself first before I pass off bad judgement.

Is he really that awful? I'm honestly only judging him from my perspective and from the times I got to interact with him. I don't know if I can say he's that much of a bad person because he never came off that way to me. However, you probably knew much more about him than me so you probably have the better sense of judgement.

I'm just genuinely curious.

He is a former moderator who was demoted, banned, and permanently banned (as a serious threat) from livewire for his misconduct with underaged boys on lw. That is not "what people say about him" its fact, and its common knowledge.

the only comparison I can make is "hey convicted sex offender, bc you havent personally molested me, lets be friends". that doesnt strike you as odd at all? to just cop out by saying that well he didnt harm me personally, so im going to reserve judgement. Sometimes its ok to say, hey its very clear this is a bad dude who I probably shouldnt want to still be around lw.
