depends. are they still with their parents because they just like living at home or are they just living at home because theyre too immature to be a responsible adult, save money, and take care of themselves.
Now now, you dont have to be that callous. Some of us can't help it.
nothing i said was callous. i gave two extremes. clearly if you fall somewhere in between its a different response.
It's just the way you said it sounded so bitchy.
sounds like a personal problem, doesnt it

My brother is 24 and still lives with parents, I left home at 21... see no problem with either.

I'm 28 and still technically live with my parents (most of my financial mail goes to their house, my car insurance is registered at their address, and after I moved back when I was done with college I never signed another lease on an apartment). That being said, I haven't slept at my parents' house in over a solid year. I tend to just...move in with whomever I'm dating. I'll live at home for a few months between relationships, but that's pretty much it. I guess for me it's a combination of not wanting to make the long-term investment of signing a lease, not wanting roommates, and just being too lazy to get my own place. Plus I like having the extra money to spend on food and shopping. Sometimes it's a little embarassing, and I wonder if my boyfriend(s) think it's tacky that I don't have my own place. But whatev. My parents are pretty cool and I like spending time with them.

I say if your parents are willing to give you free housing than go for it! Paying for rent or a mortgage totally sucks.

long-term investment of signing a lease
I'd hardly call signing a lease an "investment."
It certainly takes a big chunk of my income for an extended period of time, so I don't really see what you're getting at. Unless you're trying to play with semantics, in which case is quite stupid to ignore all other context.
It wasn't anything personal...I was just stating a fact, that's all.

I didn't take anything personal, I just felt that your reply was quite useless, so I was trying to understand the reasoning behind it.
