Do you (purposefully or not) frequently sleep in and skip class?

Just wondering.

College student. I did in the past for other reasons but not to sleep in.

At university I think it's a massive waste of money and my education to skip class. I've done it before if there were important reasons, but I always go even if I'm super hungover.

College student, and I've done it maybe once, and it was for a more important reason, anyway.

meh, in high school i used to get dropped off at school and then walk or catch a bus home and go back to bed, or skip classes later in the day to just go home.
but that was more because i was depressed than needing sleep.

I agree. I hate myself so fucking much when I do it, and I do it much more than I'd like.

I wouldn't feel bad if college weren't so damn expensive. My grades are still decent. But fuck. Nine grand a term. I don't even want to know what that translates to per day/class.

In high school I skipped full days just because I'd stay up really late, get 2 hours of sleep, and feel really shitty when I woke up. Go figure.
I think I've only skipped two classes this semester. I definitely don't do it as often as I did in high school. I bet one reason is because by high school started at about 7 and the worst college can get is 8.

Out of state tuition. That's not even including any living expenses, such as rent. Totally going to my home state next year. Can't afford another year of this.

In uni, I very rarely missed a lecture. I would go out partying and not get in til 5 or 6am, and still be there for my 9 oclock lectures. We had 9-6 every day. The 9am and 5pm lectures you could skip, but you couldn't skip any of the clinics in between.

When I was in school, I only really missed class for music (flute). We had about two hours free per day and weren't allowed to leave school during those hours, but I did often go home regardless by sneaking out the back door. I didn't really miss the actual classes though. I was doing all science A-levels and they were tough, so it wasn't in my interests to miss them. Too much catching-up to do.

I do depending on the class. Some classes getting extra sleep is more important than attending a lecture by a most retired professor whose information is so out of date that the only parts that would be relevant I could learn just by reading the textbook and doing the assignments.
*cough* CS370 *cough*

It's pretty bad when I could do multithreading better on my first try than he could. The professor's "solution" to a pretty simple program (that basically needed a single semaphore to work properly) was to create an entire array of mutexes for each thread; it was slow and had tons of race conditions, and because of his terrible example code most students in the class thought you needed two semaphores, which dramatically overcomplicated things and made most people's code run much slower.

Sorry for the rant, but that's my first class of the day and I've pretty much started just sleeping past it because it's not really worth showing up.
