A very slight majority of whites and Asians support gay marriage, a small majority of Latinos oppose gay marriage, and a vast majority of blacks oppose gay marriage.

Clearly, something's up with blacks where they don't support gay rights, and I'd imagine you'd be more likely to find homophobia more supported among them than other racial groups given those results.

Considering the exit polls done on who voted for Proposition 8 in California back in 2008, it's pretty clear which racial group seems to oppose gay marriage the most (yes being for banning gay marriage, no being for keeping gay marriage legal):

Hah.  I lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years and yes, homosexual acts could easily get you arrested.  But the funny thing was, since male/female fraternization in public was frowned upon by the Morality Committee, homosexuality sprouted behind closed doors in the kingdom.  In public they'd hold hands (it's a cultural thing, not gay like one would think) and denounce homosexuality, but at home there would be an awful lot of buggery, and plenty of chances to do it.

And yes, black people (at least in the U.S.) seem to me the most homophobic, judging from the ones I've known (other than the gay ones).  There is nothing quite like the rage of a black man when called a faggot.

I don't know. From what I've seen, people have always brought up the bible when speaking on how they oppose it.
