  Because you aren't better than animals. Even though animals do follow instinct more than us that doesn't mean they don't think.

  I've seen documentaries of animals doing things that are just unbelievably human and I've seen humans acting more animalistic at certain times too.

  You should watch documentaries on animals, a mother's love is just as powerful in nearly all animals, apes can make tools for God sake.

  And animals feel pain, jealousy and love just as much as people.

  They do follow instincts but domesticated animals are so extremely human like, they learn like us, they feel like us.

  They will never be exactly like us but maybe that just makes them better than us, at least they don't understand wrong and right the same as us, because when an animal commits wrong you can forgive it, but when a person commits wrong, you know they did it on purpose.

  These are just my thoughts though, I hate some animals but I don't think I'm better than them, I'm just a different type of animal

That's just something we as humans are born with, and some people do have superioty complexes. I've met people that run over cats on the road, just because one cat when they were a child scratched them.

And sometimes I see people treat humans worse than how they'd treat animals.

It's through human rights that animal rights begin to grow.

But if you think there's so much animal rights going on then you really aren't looking at half of the world as animal are being starved to death in some countries for their fur, sharks getting their fins chopped up just for soup and being thrown back into the ocean just to die

Hey, I think humans are great, I am one. But I could not hurt an animal because in my family I was brought up to see them as equals.

If I was brought up in the wild I'm sure I wouldn't give a damn for animals and would kill one without another thought.

I guess I just believe differently. We need animals to run our world and keep it alive. If it was only humans... we'd be nothing, we'd die out.

Actually we do,

An eco system is a delicate thing, one animal disappearing from it, even if it seems its insignificant, can have a massive affect.

But I think I've shared my opinion enough, I'm tired of this debate, I'd say just watch documentaries and maybe Inconvenient truth.

Actually here's a good point,

People may seem ants are pointless, but without them then a lot of dead animals wouldn't be eating.

Or Crocroaches, they are eating by birds and other animals and without them populations would fall elsewhere in the animal kingdom,

Everything has a chain reaction, if you swat one beer, a thousand flowers wouldn't be pollunated and wouldn't come back next year... now what if you killed all the bees? The Bee Movie made a comical point of this but it stands.

Everything has a purpose in this world.

But again, my belief, I'm done with this discussion and you can see animals any way you want, you do have free will after all and so do I
