if it's not showing up for you, it's doubtful. to be honest i can't really say as i have no idea what your corporate IT system is set up like, what policies they have in place with regards to backup, etc. crashing internet explorer shouldn't really delete anything off the desktop anyway, but if your corporate system is set up to delete stuff off the desktop at shutdown/logoff then it may do. to be honest your best bet if checking with IT support at your place of work and asking them, they'll be best able to field your questions. a word of advice in theses situations is to always save stuff onto a pendrive and never a work computer precisely for cases like this.

Does deleteing explorer do something bad? explorer from the system. Not iexplorer.

yeah, but under normal circumstances you shouldn't be able to delete explorer. it's in charge of the windowing system so you probs wouldn't be able to see anything on your desktop or browse files, etc.

If you still see your files, it should be available. Find your in-house IT staff and ask for access to your old desktop files. move them to your new, non-corrupted desktop.

I've moved them already, but I want my old desktop back which is forever gone. If i tell anyone that it happened they'll take my admin privileges away
