I'm a business student, and have wanted to start a business for a while now. I'm actually taking a year off school to do so. For a while i told myself that the best business ideas and strategies are intuitive, if you're a very rational person.
However recently i've come to realize that i don't know enough about the social and industrial systems in place to come up with consistent/effective business ideas/strategies.
So my question is:
How/where can i develop a sense for the nature and functions of business and industry in general? I want to develop creative ideas i never would have thought of, and understand how to manipulate business systems and protocol in my favour, to make money and be successful?
Side note: I've started off by reading up on industries as defined by the North american industry classification system, but i want to learn more about the crux elements of how business and industry really function.
