For a while i told myself that the best business ideas and strategies are intuitive, if you're a very rational person.

However recently i've come to realize that i don't know enough about the social and industrial systems in place to come up with consistent/effective business ideas/strategies.

So my question is:

How/where can i develop a sense for the nature and functions of business and industry in general? I want to develop creative ideas i never would have thought of, and understand how to manipulate business systems and protocol in my favour, to make money and be successful?

Side note: I've started off by reading up on industries as defined by the North american industry classification system, but i want to learn more about the crux elements of how business and industry really function.

on a side note if ur gonna open ur business i suggest u read art of war by sun tzu its a book writen by a chinese philosopher it doesnt really have anything to do with business in particular but the lessons that book teaches can be used in any part of life especially business most CEOs of huge corporations apply sun tzu's tactics to business its too long to explain why and how it works but trust me u wont regret it if ur not big on philosophy there are some authors that took sun tzu's art of war and basicly show how to apply his tactics to business so u can pick up a business version of the book hope that helps
