I'm fat. I like pie.

*snicker*

Actually, I just like pi better 'cause I memorized more of it...and the symbol really is rather cute.

I have a friend called Pi as well...

I'll stop rambling.

Pi is so awesome, we should change the term "e-mail" to "pi-mail." I'd love to get some pi-mail.

My pokemon bring all the boys to the yard and I'm like, "You wanna trade cards?"

Gahahaha.

That was brilliant, Nick.

+1 FTW.

As for that shirt...that's honkin' and quite a huge picture.

I like e because of natural logarithms. They are an integral part of calculus. sigh.

I wonder how many times someone has made that lame ass joke. It's really sweet because you use it to find the area under the curve 1/x. I never bothered to look ahead in the book or try and figure out how to do that myself. So when we finally learned how to integrate 1/x I was like, "oh...i'm stupid."

I love pi! Mostly for pi day. It's our school's math teacher's cheesy excuse to get kids interested in math. On March 14, all the teachers play games about pi, wear dorky t-shirts with pi jokes on them and some even bring in pie. lol.. What a day.

What about all the other "Infinite Non-repeating Decimal"?

Do they not matter?  I mean there are an infinate amount of those numbers, the majority of square roots.

i like the number "phi" approx. 1.618033989... its the quotient of one number of the fibanacci sequence over the number before it. it is also know as the golden ratio or golden number and is used in history through out time. you should look at it.

I definitely like pi more, because you can make dumb food jokes in math class. One of my trademark jokes is whenever someone says pi-r-squared, I like to tell them, "No, pie are round...brownie are squared."

I don't like any number in particular, but I guess pi is slightly cooler. But e is far easier to right, and when you're writing the same character for the 50th time.. you'll embrace the easy ones :}

I ABSOLUTELY hate lambda(or however you spell it)

I've got spurs that jingle jangle jingle.
As I go riding merrily along.
And they sing, "Oh, ain't you glad you're single?"
And that song ain't so very far from wrong.

e, simply for it's ability to create imaginary/complex number planes due to Euler's formula :-)

and natural logs come in a lot more :-)

but pi is pretty cool too as it shows up in weird places like the riemann-zeta function of 2

but wow this is a geek thread

NOT faIR!!

someone beat me both to e^(i*pi)
and to phi

oh well.

So anyway I would think that e is cooler it has 718 in the begining, a familair area code to New Yorkers.

But the history of e is shorter. I once read this great book about pi and how it has affected us for the last 5,000.

But I voted e becuas its more "modern"

Isn't it 'pee' instead of 'pie' (pronunciation). I saw it somewhere in a show that there's this massive mispronunciation of the lovely symbol.
